Alden believes marketing strategy is as much an art as it is science. Lucky for us, he’s a master of both. No, really. An accomplished painter in his spare time, Alden brings the same level of creative acumen to his work at CHIEF. From delightful notebook doodles to 50-page research reports and innovative data visualizations, everything he creates is thoughtful and precise, with a distinct point of view. As a member of CHIEF’s strategy team, Alden communicates with clients to fully understand marketing landscapes in order to create and deliver messaging platforms and strategic outreach plans that are backed by qualitative and quantitative data assessment. He’s also an experienced researcher who conducts audience interviews, focus groups and workshops, and translates and presents the findings to clients. Artful and analytical, Alden bridges the gap between “left brained” and “right brained” types and challenges the notion that creativity lives in silos of specialization. Hats off!

Alden holds a BA in Political Science from The College of William and Mary.

I’m an Army brat. I was born in California, and then grew up mostly in the DC area (with brief stints in Washington state and Kansas).

I just saw the Northern Lights in Norway. It was bananas!

I love A Whole New Mind by Dan Pink and Information is Beautiful by David McCandless. They remind me that analysis can be a creative exercise, and vice-versa.

DC Go-to's

The National Cathedral is underrated IMO. It’s an excellent place for a run or walk, with lovely views and architecture that makes you forget what time and place you’re in.
